Forest Bathing

December 21, 2025 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Trunks of trees in snow covered woods
Forest Bathing (Shinrin-Yoku) is a guided practice of slowing down and mindfully connecting with nature through the senses. Rather than hiking or exercising, it’s about being present—listening, noticing, breathing, and allowing the natural world to calm the body and mind. Rooted in Japanese tradition and supported by modern research, forest bathing helps reduce stress, boost mood, and deepen our sense of connection to the land and one another.

This special Winter Solstice walk will be led by Heidi McClure, a Columbus-based massage therapist and energy healer — and the sister of Davy McClure, whose love for the outdoors and lasting impact on the Ashland County Parks community continue to inspire connection and stewardship. This event offers a chance to pause, reflect, and share in the healing power of nature together.
Please bring water, a journal/pen, and a lightweight folding/camp chair (optional).
